Mainframe opening party

 

This new club called Mainframe opened near us so of course we had to check it out. The aesthetic is this really cool neon rainbow lights and all sleek glass. It's almost like you're inside a gamer computer.

The owner of the club, Random Bear, was headlining under his DJ persona RB Spinz. A delightful set of evergreen techno! We really partied all night!

New Year's party

 

We had a New Year's party at Oula's place. He lives with a couple of roommates in this old wooden house. They all have their own rooms, a communal living room and a kitchen. And a small yard too. It's pretty cool and it's a great place to host parties.

I don't know the room mates super well, but me and Neva both really like house plants so they were showing me their plants.

Neither Apila nor Eveliina live here, but Apila was invited by me and Oula and Eveliina plays DnD with the other room mate, Samuli, who was not home this time. And they know each other from the Book Cafe. It's funny how small the queer circles of this city really are.

At mid night Oula lipsynced to Cha cha cha, Finland's Eurovision song of the year. There was really no other song worthy of ending the year 2023. Honestly I'm not hopeful for the next year and the current government is making life more and more miserable to poor people like us, but we'll trudge on and support each other.

Post Christmas Blues

 

I didn't post this in the same post before, because I didn't one to ruin the Christmas spirit. But my mum can be really complicated. Like I said, she called us her boys and used the right name, which is nice. But she also got me panties clearly from the women's section and a face moisturizer that smells like strawberries. I didn't want to start and argument so I just said thanks. But she sure as hell didn't get that shit for my brother. He got boxer briefs and axe body spray. I don't understand how her mind works. I've been out to her for like 4 years. I've been on T for 2, I'm starting to sound like a man and I have the saddest little tradie moustache, what part of that makes her think I need to smell like strawberries? Oh well, at least I can leave the panties to local cafe's free stuff drawer and Oula can use the strawberry stuff so it's not wasted.

Christmas at mum's

 

Oula finished my sweater just before we had to leave for my mum's for Christmas. Now we can be that sappy couple with matching shirts. Mum called us his boys which felt good.

Oula was quite enjoying my mum's famous glögi. I'm glad he's very likable, I swear he can absolutely charm any mum into thinking he's the perfect future son in law.

I was mostly just impatient to open all the presents already. 

Oula got me new wheels for my skateboard!

I got him this make up thing he's been wanting. He kept talking about it to the extent I think he basically asked me for it without asking.

Mum got us mugs. They're gonna come in use pretty soon. I've been living at my brother's place while he's doing the compulsory military service, but surprisingly soon he's coming back and I have to find my own place. Oula lives with some room mates, so I have to figure it out for myself for now. At least I got two mugs for my future home now lol
